Hard Boiled Eggs
- Place eggs in a pot and cover with 1 inch of water.
- Bring to a rolling boil and turn off the heat.
- Let sit for 10-12 minutes depending on how you like the yolks
- place in ice bath for 15 minutes
Some people add a pinch of salt and a splash of vinegar to the boiling water.
A variation based on egg peeling success suggests that hot start offers better peeling efficiency, or lessens the amount of egg that sticks to the shell.
- Boil a pot of water.
- Lower the eggs into the water (can be straight from the fridge or room temp).
- Boil for 11 minutes.
