Fresh Green Beans with Herbs
Start with fresh green beans, wash and trim the stems from the ends. Throw them into a pot of salted boiling water for 10 minutes or until tender but still crisp, and bright green. Drain the beans and cover with cold water. Drain and chill until ready to serve.
To serve, heat the beans in the microwave until hot (1-2 minutes). If serving 5 people, toss with 1-2 Tbls butter, and 1/3 - 1/2 cup chopped chives and chopped fresh basil, salt and pepper to taste.
Other herb possibilities: fresh parsley, dill.
